José Berrios-Cora
DATA SERVICES SPECIALIST
José Berríos-Cora (he, him, his) is part of the Data Services Specialist team. He is responsible for data entry and bookkeeping for our clients. Prior to NPFM, José worked for four years in tech sales and customer service. He excelled and lead by example as he created the company’s first diversity and inclusion group. Such groups focus on creating and promoting a safe work environment by educating employees on different social justice topics. His technical skills and attention to detail are an asset to our team as he comes from a very demanding biomedical and engineering background. José currently lives in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and is an avid foodie, enjoys video games, CrossFit, and outdoor sports.
José Borges
SENIOR DATA SERVICES SPECIALIST
José E. Borges (he, him, his) is part of the Data Services team for NonProfit Fiscal Management. His role encompasses a wide range of tasks linked to data entry and bookkeeping functions of all our clients. Based in Puerto Rico, he works collectively with our accounting managers to ensure deliverables are met.
A consummate host with a creative mindset, José has customer service experience in the hotel and healthcare industry. Before joining NPFM, he served as concierge coordinator for Pravan Health, a membership-based concierge medicine clinic focused on prevention and wellness. Prior to that, he was part of the Butler Service at the St. Regis Bahia Beach, where he developed and exercised his acute ability to craft memorable guest experiences. He has received a Certificate of Excellence in Butler Service from the then Director of Global Luxury Brand Operations at Marriott, Michael Pereira.
It’s his commitment to serve others that drove him into the nonprofit world, bringing along an intriguing skill set that deviates from the traditional bookkeeper.
José has a bachelor’s degree in film production with a minor in foreign languages. A cinephile free spirit at heart with a passion for baking; he can be found enjoying an international film, hiking around the island, or making vegan cinnamon buns from scratch.
Kathryn Dremann, MBA
ACCOUNTING MANAGER
Spanning almost 20 years, Kathy’s career in the nonprofit sector began as an environmental educator for a raptor rehabilitation program. Although her passion for teaching lingered, she was determined to learn the business side of nonprofit management, particularly finance and accounting. Throughout her career, she’s been involved at various levels, from volunteer to board member, with more than a dozen nonprofits. Most recently, Kathy managed the business affairs and finances for Denver Bike Sharing, owner and operator of Denver B-cycle. As a member of the senior management team, she also participated in the long-term strategic planning and business development decisions. In addition to her duties at NPFM, she also provides accounting and administrative support to a local animal shelter in Jasper County, South Carolina.
Rebecca Lancaon
DATA SERVICES MANAGER
Rebecca Lancaon (she, her, hers) is the Data Services Manager for Nonprofit Fiscal Management. In her role at NPFM, she manages the Data Services division and all data entry and bookkeeping functions for NPFM’s clients.
Rebecca is an experienced Sales Manager and entrepreneur with a demonstrated history of working with clients in the telecom and energy industries. In her prior role as President of Sharp Acquisitions, she has led successful company expansions into 4 major markets, building offices from the ground up. After 15+ years of working with Fortune 500 clients, she decided to focus her efforts on the Non-Profit industry, based out of the San Juan Metro area in Puerto Rico.
Rebecca was the first employee hired to fill the Data Services Specialist role in March 2020. Since she joined NPFM, she has been a key player in growing the entire Data Services Division, as well as the NPFM team in Puerto Rico. Between being a wife, a mother of two tiny humans, and a certified aerial fitness instructor, she is committed to helping the island of Puerto Rico with its Nonprofit efforts and employment opportunities as NPFM grows.
Connor Leigh
SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Connor Leigh is a Senior Accountant at NPFM and he has been with us since November 2020. He obtained a Bachelor’s in Accounting at Central Connecticut State University in 2018 and is currently working on his Master’s Degree in Accounting.
Prior to NPFM, Connor worked at an accounting firm in New Jersey, where he specialized in audits, reviews, compilations, and taxes.
Connor possesses a strong desire to establish healthy and strong relationships with clients and assist them in whatever way possible to meet their financial goals.
Kelvin Mariani-Escalante
IMPLEMENTATION & PAYROLL SPECIALIST
Kelvin Mariani-Escalante is the Implementation and Payroll Specialist at NPFM. His role centers around the onboarding process for new clients, making sure our systems are in place based on the nature of their organization, and processing their payroll. Kelvin has a Master’s in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and is a licensed industrial psychologist in Puerto Rico with experience in test development and evaluation methods. Currently, his passion for knowledge and social justice has made him redirect his efforts towards a career in law. He finds his time between ensuring that NPFM’s clients receive the best onboarding experience and law school, where he plans on focusing on employment law, corporate law, and technology law, while eventually fulfilling his ultimate goal of becoming a Pokemon Master.
Angelica Olivarez
ACCOUNTING MANAGER
Angelica is an accounting manager for NonProfit Fiscal Management. Her role involves assisting clients with financial reporting, grant reporting, and month-end close. She works closely with the data service team to ensure the financial process runs smoothly. Angelica has accounting experience in the healthcare and education industry. Before NPFM, Angelica worked as the finance director at Carevide. There, she managed accounting functions and supported the CFO with audits, grant reporting, and budgeting. Angelica holds a Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University–Commerce. Her interest includes quality time with family, sports, and outdoor adventures.
Ashley Rodríguez Mercado
DATA SERVICES SPECIALIST
Ashley Rodríguez Mercado (she, her, hers) is part of the Data Services team in Puerto Rico. As a Data Services Specialist her role centers around accounts payable processing and data entry/bookkeeping. After having joined the NPFM team in July 2020, she has assisted in growing the Data Services team and is a proud member of our Party Planning Committee. Ashley is a certified dance instructor and is also currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Puerto Rico.
